Turns out the way to write postal addresses in the US is weird. It totally breaks the "from more precise to more general" rule.
@emersion Is there ANYTHING in the US that is NOT in a weird way, for starters? 12-hour time format, MDY dates, °F temperatures, imperial system…

Tr.: Not at all, they also put adjectives before nouns - and a whole bunch of other stuff like that ! :-D
